Leave of absence

• Student that wishes to take the leave of absence must submit the related forms to their department admission office during the vacation and must get the dean’s confirmation. But, if the student is taking a leave of absence due to illness or other unavoidable reasons they can register.
• The dean may recommend leave of absence due to health or other reasons that you can’t attend the classes in a regular-ly.
• ※ Leave of absence is ruled for once a year (2 semesters), and can be shortened to 6 months ( 1 semester) if the reason of the leave of absence is discharged.
• Due to military reasons and students that has applied for more than 9 semesters cannot be ruled as the previous leave of absence period.
• Other details about leave of absence must follow the leave of absence process rules.
• Leave of absence registration period: During the vacation

Return to school

Students must register the return to school before the beginning of the semester. (But, students that took the leave of absence due to military reasons can return to school within 1/4 of the semester.)

Exam

The dean can expel the students with the following reasons. But, in the case of d. the student can be expelled with the request of the dean.

• a. Student that hasn’t returned to school after four weeks of leave of absence duration date. (Student who had been absent due to Military service and hasn’t returned to school after 4 weeks end of his requested leave of absence)
• b. Student that has not paid their tuition on the payment period of every semester.
• c. Student that has a double school registers
• d. Death, illness or other reasons that doesn’t seem to have the ability to go on with the study
• e. Student that did not register for courses for 4 weeks after the beginning of the semester
• f. Student that has been expelled due to disciplinary action

The following reasons of absence approved by the dean are considered valid absences:

• Attending a national or local government event
• Attending to special activity inside or outside of the school
• Attending to practical exercise due to the course subject
• Military service related (physical examination)
• Other reasons that the dean has approved
• Students who are approved of valid absence are to be checked as absence but cannot have any limited arrangements.
• The approved of absence days are to recognized as occurrence of reason, but the dean can limit this absence

With the approval of the dean the following reasons will be recognized as Absent with Permission (AwP).

• Death of lineal family member
• Anniversary of death in the lineal family members’ parents
• One’s own wedding, military service
• Other reasons that the dean approves that it’s needed
• It must be submitted within 5 days of the occurrence of reason
• Students who are approved of AwP are to be checked as absence but cannot have any limited arrangements.
• Days allowed for AwP are as follows
• Death of lineal family member: Death of lineal family member’s grandparents, parents, wife can be out for within 7 days including holidays, Brothers and sisters death can be out for within 5 days including holidays.
• Parents’ anniversary of death: 2 days are rules, but if there is a special reason 3 days can be approved.
• One’s own wedding can be absent for 7 days with the documentary evidence.

Valid Absence and Absence with Permission

The following reasons of absence approved by the dean are considered valid absences:

• Attending a national or local government event
• Attending to special activity inside or outside of the school
• Attending to practical exercise due to the course subject
• Military service related (physical examination)
• Other reasons that the dean has approved
• Students who are approved of valid absence are to be checked as absence but cannot have any limited arrangements.
• The approved of absence days are to recognized as occurrence of reason, but the dean can limit this absence
