Dept. of Nursing
The Department of Nursing Science aims to foster competent international nurses and innovative local leaders by pro-ducing pioneering, integrating, and professional nurses with knowledge in alternative medicine. To accomplish this, the department has installed a state-of-the-art comprehensive nursing simulator system and learning system, to bring about a systemized nursing education. Moreover, the department operates NCLEX-RN program for obtaining nursing license in the US, through StarTrack. The department is dedicated to fostering experts in nursing knowledge and nursing educa-tors.

Dept. of Physical Therapy
Physical Therapy is a part of the rehabilitation process that uses specially designed therapeutic exercise, physical modalities, and assistive devices to help patients restore or maintain their physical functions. Physical therapy is carried out by physical therapists who are highly educated and licensed in health care professionals. Based on the examination and evaluative judgment, physical therapists determine the diagnosis and prognosis of diseases, and a plan for treatment. The aging nature of the society; improper diet and living habits; and deterioration of the environment have exposed humans of the 21st century to a variety of health-threatening diseases. This calls for the importance of health education and medical information that will help overcome such hazards. Also, the diversity of medical information have highlighted the need for accurate medical record keeping. Accordingly, the Department of Health Management therefore trains health educators and medical recorders who are recognized by the Ministry of Medical Welfare, with practical and state-of-the-art skills in chronic diseases based on their knowledge of healthcare. Such professionals will be equipped with skills leading to the delivery and transformation of future healthcare services; healthcare policy decision making and healthcare research to solve the challenges of the healthcare delivery system.

Occupational therapy is a client-centred health profession which can enhance health and well-being through occupation. Occupational Therapy service is provided by occupational therapists who are highly educated and licensed in health care professionals (by Ministry of Health and Welfare). The ultimate goal of occupational therapists is to enable people to participate in the activities of everyday life (e.g., activities of daily living, play, work, leisure). Occupational therapists achieve this outcome by working with people and communities to promote their ability to engage in various occupations they want to, need to, or are expected to do, or by modifying the occupation or the environment to support their occupational engagement.
The mission of Department of Occupational Therapy at Jeonju University is to prepare students with requisite knowledge, skills, and professional behaviours to practice in various settings (e.g., hospitals, clinics, rehabilitation centres, home care programmes, special schools) and to function as critical thinker of research and leaders in their profession. Students will achieve an understanding of the influence of family, society, culture, and physical environment as they explore the concepts of occupation and health across the lifespan within the context of client-centred and evidence-based practice.

The Department of Exercise Prescription aims to educate and train experts in systematic developments of various pro-grams, including exercise program for athlete performance enhancement, rehabilitation exercise programs for injured or post-surgery athletes, exercise programs for the elderly in preparation for the aging society, and prevention and treat-ment programs for symptoms due to insufficient exercise. In order to realize this, the department directly operates gyms with advanced equipments, exercise prescription room, basic physical strength measuring room, muscle strength measur-ing room to provide a more scientific and systematic education system. Also, students in the program are required to participate in regular study groups in their exercise prescription seminar teams.
