Overview

 If you are passionate about creative arts and interested in the well-being of others, our department is the right place for you to develop into a creative arts psychotherapist. Our department began in 2007 and is the only single-degree program that offers bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral certifications in the nation. Our department provides music therapy, dance/movement therapy, and expressive arts therapy programs at the undergraduate level. All faculty members have extensive clinical and educational experiences worldwide and offer theoretical foundations in human development, therapy techniques, and artistic expression. We prepare you to succeed long after graduation.

Course  Description
Introduction to Music Therapy This course introduces students the theories, principles and applications of music therapy with reference points in many areas of psychology, and psychology of music and therapy.
Introduction to Psychology This course introduces the major psychological concepts and principles.
Art Expression & Techniques This course provides essential explorations and experiences of expressive arts materials in clinical practice.
Expressive Arts Therapies for Children with Special Needs This course deals with art class for typically developing children, and then expressive arts therapies with children, including principles and processes in working with various population and possible approaches in both typically and atypically developing children.
Music Therapy for Adults & Elderly This course deals with applications of music therapy for adults and the elderly.
Creative Arts Therapy Clinical Practice Practical experience of creative arts therapy gained through a clinical practice. Students are to experience with various populations such as children, adults and elderly.
