JJ, Implementation of A Program for Exchange Students

(at Outstanding Universities in China and Vietnam 길면 생략)

- Conduct Academic, Language, and Cultural Exchange Programs to Foster Global Talents –

Jeonju University (President Park Jin-bae) announced on the 26th (Tuesday) that it held a welcoming ceremony for exchange students from China and Vietnam in the first semester of 2024 at the Star Center Onnuri Hall.

The exchange student program consisted mostly of excellent students who came to study on English tracks from outstanding universities in Vietnam and China.

This exchange student program includes contents that allow students to gain various experiences in Korea, such as major classes, community-linked club programs, and cultural experiences.

A student at Geylim University of Technology in China, GAO YING(Department of English Language and Literature), said, “Jeonju University is a central university of tradition and culture and has a hotel-style dormitory, Star Tower, and a local top-notch library (Star Center), which helped greatly in deciding to study abroad. My friends who went as exchange students last semester introduced me to the professors' warm interest, learning, and experiences of various programs.”

Shim Young-guk, head of the International Exchange Center (Hotel Management Professor), said, “Last semester, exchange students at Hebei University in China were not only very good, but their English skills and attitude in class were very good. Most of the exchange students enrolled this time are students from top universities in China and Vietnam with English track courses. These students study in the English track department, which provides 100% English lectures, experience various school programs, and are excellent talents who can enter as master's and doctoral degrees.”

Jeonju University International Exchange Center has been promoting cooperation with the Vietnamese Ministry of Labor for the first time since 2017, and continues international cooperation activities such as short-term training and exchange of excellent exchange students based on the signing of MOU with the Vietnamese Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in 2023. Meanwhile, Jeonju University is planning to further expand its on-campus English track department and attract excellent foreign students from all over the world, including English-speaking countries.
