Jeonju University (President Park Jin-bae) celebrated its 60th anniversary, and under the slogan "The Region and 60 Years, 100 Years to the World", the 60th anniversary of the school was held at JJ Art Hall in the art hall to thank the community and alumni who have cared for and loved Jeonju University.

The event, which commemorates the 60th anniversary of the opening of University on May 2 (Thursday), was a pre-ceremony event, with the planting of commemorative trees and the unveiling of the copper plate for donors of the development fund.

Starting with the prayer of Pastor Cui-yup (Majeon Church), the former chairman of the Jeonju University Development Societies Association, at the first part of the commemoration service, Shin Dong-A Academy Chairman Cha Jong-soon, under the theme of "God's Promise: Hope”, He said he believed in the history and blessings of concessions, cooperation and respect, and hope becoming a reality.

The second part of the ceremony, which began with President Park Jin-bae's commemorative speech, was attended by domestic and foreign figures and alumni who have led the development of the school together, followed by the death of Chairman Cha Jong-soon and the congratulatory speech of Lim Jeong-yeop, the president of the alumni association, Performance awards, outstanding educators, outstanding research institute awards, outstanding researcher awards, superpower staff awards, superpower student awards, achievement awards and commendations, and appreciation plaques were awarded. In addition to the ceremony, various events were held to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the opening of the school, including the award of honorary doctorate degrees by CEO Seo Yoon-deok of Lipmen and President Jeong Kyeong-taek of Jakarta International University, the groundbreaking ceremony of the mission center, celebrations with local residents (in front of the student center), library cultural programs, and the screening of the Jeonju International Film Festival at the Grand Stadium.

In particular, a "superstar registration ceremony" was also held in which Sunchang governor Choi Young-il, Wanju governor Yoo Hee-tae, Jeongeup mayor Lee Hak-soo, and Jeonju Chamber of Commerce Chairman Kim Jung-tae were selected as proud alumni who led Jeonju University's development. The Superstar Registration Ceremony, which is named a superstar in the Hall of Fame, was also held.

President Park Jin-bae said, “Through the mid- to long-term development plan for the university, JJ VISION 2030, a new vision of 'Glocal University that realizes student success and future value' was established. With Christianity's prestigious history, it will grow into a university loved by Jeonbuk residents and proud of local residents” .

Meanwhile, Jeonju University, which opened in 1964 with the founding ideology of "Implementation of the Christian Spirit," plays the role of a Christian base university in the Honam region. It obtained certification three times in a row from the government's university institution evaluation certification. It is recognized for its ability in overall education and management performance, such as obtaining the best "S grade" in the annual evaluation of the university innovation support project.
