Jeonju University Signs Industry-Academic Cooperation Agreement With PAT.R Co., Ltd. for Future Food Tech Industry Development

Jeonju University(President Park Jin-bae) Medical School announced today(1st) that it has signed a business agreement with food tech company PAT.R Co., Ltd. to advance the future food tech industry.

PAT.R, a subsidiary of Hyosarang Medical Group, is a startup company that develops and manufactures food for patient treatment. The agreement aims to foster the development of the Medi Food and Food Tech industries, which are focused on future patient treatment foods.

The agreement will enhance mutual cooperation in various fields, including technology and manpower exchange, manpower training, joint infrastructure use, and collaborative technology development and support. This cooperation will leverage the strengths of both the university and the company.

The signing ceremony took place in the conference room of PAT.R Co., Ltd. Key figures from both institutions attended, including a professor from Jeonju University School of Medicine and Kim Jung-yeon, CEO of PAT.R Co., Ltd.

Under this agreement, the two institutions will collaboratively promote technical and academic exchange, support product R&D, develop functional raw materials, and work on patent acquisition to bolster the food technology industry. They have also agreed to enhance industry-academic cooperation through joint use of research facilities, equipment, and human and material resources.

Additionally, this collaboration will serve as a vital foundation for various industry-academic projects deemed necessary by both institutions, including seminars, councils, corporate employee education, and graduate-linked employment.

Professor Lee Sang-sang, chairman of the Jeonbuk branch of the Korean Food Tech Council and a member of the Food and Nutrition Department at Jeonju University, remarked, “Both organizations will collaborate on research and technological initiatives related to food tech to develop the food industry. This collaboration will utilize regional specialized agricultural and life resources and help expand the base of the food market by integrating new food technologies.”

Through this industry-academia cooperation agreement, Jeonju University and PAT.R Co., Ltd. are poised to contribute to the development of local industries and nations and lead the innovative growth of the food technology industry. Close cooperation between the two institutions is expected to significantly benefit the local economy and enhance the global competitiveness of the domestic food technology industry.
